Learn to share this Valentines Day by fighting over these scrumptious Strawberry, Sweet Chilli and White Wine crisps in 150g ‘Share the Love’ grab bags from Tyrrells.
In 2002, after travelling the globe, potato farmer William Chase decided to put the fun back into farming by converting one of his farms sheds in Herefordshire into a small chip-making factory. Eight years later, this whimsical cottage industry has expanded impressively into one of the nations favourite rustic crisp and snack companies, Tyrrells.

Using hand selected potatoes grown on the farm that are often processed into crisps by lunch time, Tyrrells pride themselves on producing fresh, quality snacks that use only natural and necessary ingredients, free from trans fats, wheat, artificial and GM products.
This Valentines Day, Tyrrells have launched a limited edition flavour “Lovely Chip” which has been specifically concocted with romance in mind. Taking renowned flavours of “lurve” such as Strawberry and White Wine, and combining it with a spicy aphrodisiac like sweet chilli might sound like a culinary abomination, but the end result is quite delicious, and continually surprising.
The experience of eating these crunchy potato crisps, flavoured with a blend of sweet, tangy and spicy, is reminiscent of something out of Roald Dahl’s Charlie & The Chocolate Factory; it’s a bit like a Valentine’s meal all in one. The predominant flavour comes from the sweet chilli, the heat of which is evenly matched by the tartness of the wine and the savoury taste of the potato itself, and I was initially concerned that the chilli heat would overpower any other flavour. However, I was delighted to find after a few mouthfuls that a sweet, strawberry after taste began to emerge and linger quite deliciously.
I can’t guarantee these Lovely Chips will ignite flames of romance and lust this Valentines day, but I’m sure you will enjoy sharing and savouring their unusual flavour. Not only do they make a tasty talking point amongst friends or loved ones, but they also offer the chance to win romantic prizes like a giant £3,000 diamond. On top of this, 10% of the proceeds from each case are being donated to Breast Cancer Haven, an independent charity close to the hearts of Tyrrells staff, that runs centres offering information, support and complementary therapies to anyone affected by breast cancer.
Tyrrells Valentines-themed Lovely Chips are available from most quality retailers nationwide, including Waitrose, Ocado and Booths.
