Hotel Chocolat built their reputation their extra thick chocolate Easter eggs. When they first thought of making Easter eggs, they took advice from chocolate Easter egg experts who told them to make the chocolate shell as thin as possible to economise on chocolate usage. Hotel Chocolat completely disregarded their advice and made their Easter eggs extravagantly thick, thick chocolate eggs to really get your teeth into, just like they used to be. Their Extra Thick Eggs are more than 3 times as thick.

We tried their Butterfly Egg – inside the milk and white chocolate marbled shells is a flight of graceful milk and white chocolate butterflies almost too pretty to eat – and the Extra Thick Egg filled egg with white, milk and dark mini eggs filled with mellow praline and muse au chocolat recipes.
