Cornishman Invents Eco - Friendly System For Serving Spring Water
Quangoff, a company run by Cornishman David Lenderyou, has recently launched a new system that serves chilled and sparkling spring water sustainably - avoiding the use of disposable glass and plastic bottles and minimising transportation costs. Designed specifically for the hospitality industry and as unique as its name, the Quangoff system reduces the energy and environmental impact of bottled water manufacturing and distribution by approximately 80%*.
David Lender you, explains: “Natural Spring Water is the healthiest of all drinks, with environmentally, the unhealthiest packaging and distribution. Quangoff has dramatically reduced the amount of energy it takes to get bottled Spring Water in front of the consumer, and its system will save the hospitality industry time, space and money – no fridge space is required so there are no restocking issues and bottles are reusable.”
The Quangoff system dispenses large volumes of fresh, soft Cornish Spring Water from a compact unit with simple, clear branding. The water is stored in a reusable bag in a box made from recycled cardboard and is fed through a pipe to the Quangoff unit. Water can then be dispensed into stylish 350ml or 750ml Quangoff bottles or direct in to a glass. The bottles have branding tempered on to the glass so they can be washed time and time again at high temperatures.
David continues: “Aside from the environmental impact of bottled water, another priority has been to make sure consumers are getting what they think they are paying for. Bottled water bought and charged to restaurant tables is not always Spring or Mineral water, but water from the mains, chilled and put in posh bottles - the Quangoff system only uses Natural Spring Water.” To cut carbon emissions further, Quangoff will not transport Cornish Spring Water nationwide, but will instead carefully select local Spring Water companies to supply their own branded spring water through the Quangoff system. For example; companies that use the Quangoff system in Shropshire will be supplied Natural Spring Water from Shropshire.
Lisa Goldson, Food & Beverage Manager at The Bristol Inn comments: “I think Quangoff has an extremely fresh approach, and we are really pleased we have taken the new system on. It is simple and more time effective to use, and we are glad to be serving our guests Natural Spring Water sustainably. Quangoff has given us a system which works for us, the consumer and the environment – perfect!”
With his roots in Cornwall, David Lenderyou named the Company ‘Quangoff’, after a historic Cornish Rebellion in 1497 led by Cornishman Michael Joseph An Goff (‘An Gof’ is Cornish for ‘the smith’). ‘Qu’ stands for the quality of the natural spring water, sourced from the rugged Cornish terrain.
