‘Caring Luxury’ Launch Party In Dorset Square Hotel’s Garden Square

‘Caring Luxury’ Launch Party In Dorset Square Hotel’s London Garden SquareOn a sultry summers evening in one of London’s secret squares, London’s luxury Dorset Square Hotel hosted its annual Summer Soirée with an exciting twist. The ‘Dorset Pride’ themed event marked the launch of the hotel’s ‘Caring Luxury’ initiative focusing on support for sustainability in Dorset.

The Dorset food & wine community were out in force with a showcase that had the hotel’s guests not only experience timeless and traditional Dorset produce but also the surprisingly contemporary and exotic.

  • Dorset cheese, wine, ale and cider tasting took place at the foot of a mountain tonne of Cheese consisting of Cheddar, Goats and Blue Vinny

  • An array of Dorset inspired canapés were served including Angels and Devils on Horseback, Oysters and Prunes marinated in cider and both wrapped in Pampered Pigs Bacon. Dorset Scallops garnished with chilly (Dorset’s Peppers by Post have won awards for their hottest chillies in the world) and lime juice. Dorset’s Fleet Oysters, Mini-cottage pies and Blue-Vinny tartlets proved by this stage that the hotel’s new ‘Eat Dorset’ doctrine was probably well founded.

  • To replenish the palate a myriad of ice creams were served from an antique Purbeck Ice Cream Cart as well as liquor shots made from Dorset Blueberry’s.

  • Entertainment for the evening was provided in the form of the Thomas Hardy Folk Band and a group of rather lively Morris Dancers

  • Luxury Prize Draw include vacation retreats at the hotel’s sister properties, Chateau La Cheneviere in Normandy and Lythe Hill Hotel & Spa in Haslemere, Surrey.

The event’s main supporters were Direct from Dorset, the Dorset Wildlife Trust and the Eat Dorset project. Over 300 guests filled the historic garden square including Dorset Square Hotel guests and loyal diners, UK inbound tour operators and travel trade, and of course a slice of the Dorset Farming community.

Comments Daniel Luddington, in charge of marketing the hotel said “The historic connection between our location and the namesake county provided us with an opportunity to support sustainability in Dorset, whilst providing culinary treats for our guests. We have only scratched the surface of a centre of food excellence and I only hope we can continue to create awareness about the value of traceability and provenance in England.
