West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers Making Their Mark In Makro

West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers Making Their Mark In MakroWest Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers, a co-operative of farmers from the South West of England with a well-earned reputation for making exceptional quality, award-winning handmade on the farm cheeses including PDO accredited Cheddar, have negotiated a listing in Makro stores nationwide.

Five cheeses from West Country range will be available in pre-packed random weight wedges (averaging 300g) from June, with two of the five having the added accolade of PDO status (Protected Designation of Origin).

Using only locally sourced milk and traditional methods, West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers have created a range of premium cheeses under the ‘West Country’ brand ideal for lunches and snacking, the perfect British cheeseboard or for adding flavour to a wide range of cooked dishes.

Philip Crawford, Chairman of West Country Farmhouse Cheesemakers, comments: ‘We are extremely proud of all our cheeses. Their flavours and textures are second to none, and now that a selection of these are available in Makro, access to the finest farmhouse cheeses is easier than ever for retailers and caterers. We are strong believers in the provenance of food and welcome the opportunity to help the trade offer the consumer the choice to buy local, British produce wherever possible.’
