Good Carbs Are Go
GI diets are all the rage at the moment but the very latest in dietary thinking is that the Glycaemic Load (GL) is more important. GL takes account of both the quality and quantity of carbohydrate in food and so is an accurate measure of how food affects your blood sugar.
Leading nutritionists Patrick Holford and Nigel Denby have advocated this approach and have now been joined by celebrity chef, Anthony Worrall Thompson who has brought out a new book championing this view.
So good news for the GoodCarb Food Company who have seen sales of their low GL breakfast Granola rocket since the New Year. The GoodCarb Food Company, a small start-up company based in West Wales, is the first to bring out a product independently tested for its Glycaemic Load. What’s even better is that GoodCarb Granola really tastes good too. So customers have been coming back for more. "Our retailers, who include farm shops and health food stores, are telling us it's selling "fantastically well" and we're working really hard to increase production to satisfy demand" says Lizi Shaw, founder of the company, who developed the Granola when she used to run a B&B. |
