Gordon Ramsay's £100 Pizza

Gordon Ramsay's £100 PizzaKitchen genius Gordon Ramsay has created the ultimate gourmet pizza - at a cost of £100.

The pizza is being served at the chef’s Maze restaurant in central London and is so expensive because it is topped with shaved white truffle, a delicacy which can fetch up to £1,400 per kilo.

Created with the restaurant’s head chef, Jason Atherton, the wood-fire baked pizza has a thin crust and is topped with Italian onion puree with white truffle paste, fontina cheese and baby mozzarella, pancetta and cep mushrooms and fresh herbs.

Mr Atherton brings the dish to the table himself where he shaves the fresh white truffle onto the top of the pizza. Customers can choose between a £60, £80 and £100 pizza according to the quantity of the edible fungi used.

"A pizza is a fantastic way of really experiencing the full flavour of the truffle," Mr Atherton said. "It will provide six people with a good slice, making it a cost effective way to truly experience this most sought-after delicacy."
