Last Orders PleaseAs winter draws nearer and the days are getting shorter it’s your last chance to make the most of the Indian summer we’re having and feast like it’s still July. Until the end of October you can still take advantage of the summer menu at the Slug & Lettuce.

The summer menu boasts a sorted amalgamation of cuisines and flavours, jumping from normal pub fare (nachos, chips, wraps and salads), to more robust, Mediterranean-inspired dishes, including a Mezze platter, goat's cheese & red pepper tart, falafel and avocado, asparagus, pink grapefruit and blue cheese salad.

Starters range from a tangy and fresh tasting lime & coriander Humous with toasted flatbread or fresh crunchy vegetables to simple but tasty Mussels steamed with onions, parsley and white wine or the spicy flavours of char-grilled chicken & chorizo skewers with salad leaves and crème fraiche.

Mains include the generously portioned roasted aubergine filled with sun-dried tomato cous cous, roasted peppers, onions and Greek feta. Served with coriander yoghurt and fresh rocket or sicilian chicken, fresh chicken fillet filled with sun-blushed tomatoes, fresh basil pesto and mozzarella, wrapped in cured ham and served on sauté potatoes and onions, with a lightly spiced tomato sauce. Or if you’re really hungry and in the mood for something Greek try the Slug Mezze which comprises of Greek flat breads, warm rustic bread, lime & coriander houmous, taramaslata, grilled falafel, coriander yoghurt, marinated olives, baby mozzarella and tomato salad.

Deserts include Walnut & Maple syrup Sticky toffee fudge and Duchy Originals Organic All Butter Shortbread with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Anyone for tennis?

So take advantage of this Indian summer menu before it hibernates until next spring.
