Scope Hunt For Curry Week Supporters
Scope, the leading national disability organisation, is urging Indian and other restaurants who sell curry across the UK to get on board and support its new national fundraising initiative during ‘Scope Curry Week’. The fundraiser will be running 14-23 October 2005 and aims to raise at least £500,000 for disabled children and their families.
Curry is the UK’s favourite food and this new fundraiser is the ultimate way for food lovers to donate money to a fantastic cause without having to move from their dinner table. What could be better than enjoying a mouth-watering korma and then giving to charity? It’s guaranteed to make the curry taste even better!
Participating restaurants will be asked to distribute pledge envelopes to all their customers at the end of their meal so any spare change can be collected. Scope staff will then come and pick up the envelopes, causing minimum disruption to the restaurateurs.
Thousands of disabled children face ignorance and prejudice every day, which is something Scope is committed to fighting. As an organisation, it is dedicated to working with these children and their families by giving them all the support they can reach their full potential.
Scope teams will be visiting restaurants throughout September looking for willing businesses to sign up. A full support and marketing pack will be available including posters, flyers, tent cards, donation envelopes and bags ensuring every diner is fully informed. The main focus is on fun and ease of giving so all the materials are creative yet informative.
