How many complaints have you heard from kids, and even from some grown-ups, issue about how disagreeable green food tastes? Fortunately, human creativity has found ways to improve the matter of making the flavour of produce come to life. Read on and upgrade your culinary imagination:

  • Go for the grill
  • Subjecting them to dry heat gives them a smoked, caramelized aroma reminiscent of barbecues and reduces the "icky" factor.

  • Hurray for purée
  • Turning them into soups sprinkled with savoury seasoning helps weaken the characteristic taste of greens.

  • Give them a beer bath
  • Simmer corn or other veggie side-dishes in this fermented liquid for about 2 minutes and drain. Combine butter and other spices.

  • Baby them
  • The younger versions of produce have a more delicate taste. Feeding your family these is a good way to help them learn to see these in a better light.

  • It's alright to stuff
  • Hollow out tomatoes, peppers, or eggplants and fill them with cheese, ground meat or chicken.

  • Do the mash
  • You don't always have to do this with potatoes only. You can squash carrots, peas, and cauliflower as well.

  • Make them glad with salad
  • Serve them with lettuce as an appetizer and sprinkle some tangy dressing over them.

  • Dip it good
  • Let them (or yourself) submerge edible plant parts in a variety of saucy mixtures to their heart's content.

  • Let them cry for stir-fried
  • Use a little oil on a pan and sauté the cut up herbs with strips of meat. Sprinkle with some soy sauce and seasoning.

You can even make up your own recipes to add to those mentioned above. Here's to a better affair with vegetables! Bon appetit!
