World Cup Wines

World Cup WinesTo celebrate the Rugby World Cup The Wine Society has created an impressive line up of its favourite wines from rugby playing countries.  Comprising wines from host nation France, with Italy, South Africa, New Zealand, England and tournament favourites, Australia, The Society’s Rugby World Cup Case is the perfect accompaniment to every match.

Costing just £69 The Society’s Rugby World Cup case comprises two bottles each of:

  • The Society’s Côtes-du-Rhône - France
  • The Society’s Cape Red - South Africa
  • The Society’s Australian Shiraz-Cabernet - Australia
  • The Society’s Pinot Grigio - Italy
  • The Society’s New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand
  • Midsummer Hill, 2005 - England

We’ve worked our palettes and sensitive noses around the lot and have picked out our two favorites. The Society’s Australian Shiraz-Cabernet (Langhorne Creek)- a full, rich, smoothly fruity and peppery Ozzy red, and The Society’s New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc – a fruity sauvignon with an aroma of gooseberries with a hint of grass cuttings an intense, zesty flavour.
