Yali Merlot Rosé 2005, Reserve Shiraz 2004 and Reserve Carménère 2004 were all recognized as Silver Best in Class, while Ventisquero Grey Syrah 2003 and Grey Carménère 2003 were both awarded Silver Medals.

Yali Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 (available and currently on promotion at Majestics), Grand Reserve Merlot 2004 and Reserve Sauvignon Blanc were among the 10 Viña Ventisquero wines presented with Bronze Medals.

Overall Viña Ventisquero performed strongly at the awards, receiving two Gold Medals, six Silver Medals, five Best in Class Silver Medals and 10 Bronze awards. This is the latest in a raft of awards for Viña Ventisquero’s two key brands, Yali created exclusively for the off-trade and Ventisquero for the on-trade.

At the international tasting at Vinopolis in central London, 5,000 samples of wines from 73 different countries were judged by a panel of 200 specialists from all over the globe. Winning so many medals at the International Wine and Spirit Competition tasting will not only amount to recognition by trade professionals, but also in widespread international acclaim for the brand.

These awards follow other recent triumphs for Viña Ventisquero at the Challenge du Vin 2006 and the Decanter Blind Tasting Award in May 2006.
