Two IWC Trophies For Peter Lehmann Wines
 The 2006 results for the world’s largest wine competition, the International Wine Challenge (IWC), are out and Peter Lehmann Wines has scooped 2 trophies and 3 gold medals.
Peter Lehmann’s Rieslings stole the show for the winery this year, picking up gold medals for the 2001 Reserve Riesling and the 2005 Eden Valley Riesling; the third gold medal went to the wineries flagship red, 2000 Stonewell Shiraz.
The recently released trophy results have however confirmed more tremendous news for the 2001 Peter Lehmann Reserve Riesling:

Peter Lehmann’s Reserve Riesling is no stranger to trophies. It has won the International Wine & Spirit Competition trophy for Best Riesling World Wide four times for different vintages including the legendary 1993 vintage which has won to date, a total of 32 trophies and 47 gold medals in Australian and International competitions. The 2001 vintage is catching up fast with 13 trophies and 17 gold medals already under its belt, including the highest accolade of all in Australian competitions, the 2006 Sydney Royal Wine Show Trophy for Best Show Wine in ALL major (Australian) State Wine Shows during the preceding the 12 months.
The fruit for the Reserve Riesling is all Eden Valley, from a small number of mature vineyards chosen for the very specific ‘Eden Valley’ limey, minerally characters their grapes possess. Each year, the winemakers select the very best parcels of the vintage to become the Reserve Riesling, which will spend 4 years in the winery cellars before release to the market.
