Feast: Food That Celebrates Life
Nigella Lawson
Chatto and Windus
This latest culinary offering from the Lovely Lawson Lady is outstandingly brilliant! It's easy to read, fantastically laid out and is written in her usual inimitable 'chatty' style.
The book is similar to 'How to eat' in format, but with lots of glossy pictures, which are invaluable but at the same time don't detract from the recipes themselves (personally I like to see how my cooking efforts should look!!)
In 'Feast', all imaginable occasions are covered by a recipe. I think this is great because sometimes I find it such an effort to trawl through loads of other recipe books looking for something appropriate to rustle up. Here, Nigella has done all the work for me! One of my particular faves is the Halloween section. Such imagination...slime soup, blood clots (jelly) and witches hair, to name a few.
I cannot think of an area not covered by this book. There are sections dedicated to set meals for 8 people, full on feasts, kiddies treats, religious festival food....everything!
I think each of Nigella Lawson's books have been so individual and this is no exception. |
