Wine behind the label 2005 edition
Philip Williamson, David Moore
Williamson Moore Publishing Ltd

Wine behind the label 2005 editionThis annually updated guide covers the best producers from all of the world’s winemaking regions. Over 2000 wine estates and producers are covered in detail as well as more than 14,000 wines. Regional sections include maps and lists of profiled producers by region or appellation. Also full details on agents/stockists and grape glossary (over 150 varieties), technical glossary and is fully-indexed.

Described by Steven Spurrier (Decanter magazine) as: ‘An incredibly in-depth and addictively readable survey of wines of quality from around the world with intelligent tasting notes and informative background to the producers, plus stockists and UK prices. For me, by far the best of the wine guides.’

Both David Moore and Philip Williamson have been involved with assessing high quality wine for the best part of 20 years. Both have travelled widely and been exposed to hands-on winemaking from Bordeaux to Australia. During the past 10 years both writers have contributed to a diverse range of wine information media. Rejecting a UK-centred approach to wine writing and assessment Williamson and Moore actively seek out new producers, travelling extensively to visit them at their wineries or meet them at the most important of the world’s major wine fairs. They continue to have no commercial links with wine producers, wine bodies, wine traders or trade associations. There is no wine related commercial sponsorship of any kind which continues to guarantee their fiercely independent stance and unreserved critical analysis.
